Artist talk & soup

The venezuelan, Berlin based musician and sound artist Rubén D’Hers will present a new guitar installation at Artica Svalbard´s workshop in Sjøområdet during this years festival.
“My current sound installation work oscillates between two different modes of working with stringed musical instruments & objects through a controlled mechanical medium: one mode is based on abstract musical relations to evoke a sense of space, while the other deals with the reconstruction of harmonic qualities from sounds of the indoor environment as a representational-mimetic approach via sound. Both modes of work operate fundamentally through the tunings process of strings.” - Ruben D’Hers
