Øystein Jæger (b. 1978) was educated as acantor at the Norwegian Academy of Music, where he had his diploma exam inorchestral conducting. He also holds a master’s degree in solo organperformance from the Department of Music at NTNU. Øystein has written the arrangements for and is the musical leader of the Treasure Songs concert on the official opening of ACMF 2020.
Jæger is used widely as choir and orchestral conductor and has distinguished himself as conductor of the major church musical works. He is also a sought-after chamber musician on piano, organ and harpsichord.
Øystein Jæger has been the cantor at Bodø Cathedral since 2009. He conducts the cathedral’s boys’ choir and trainee boys’ choir and is the organist during services and concerts.
